Dawes Underwriting Australia announces refreshed motor vehicle and motorcycle insurance products

Dawes Underwriting Australia has refreshed the Dawes Motor Vehicle Insurance and Dawes Motorcycle Insurance products to incorporate broker feedback and meet the evolving needs of High-Net-Worth clients.
All changes were based on extensive market research and analysis, says Jon Burrard, Dawes National Team Leader.
"It includes many features brokers and their clients have wanted yet struggled to find, such as $100,000 in cover for learner licence drivers, a $300,000 limit on replacement vehicles, and a $25,000 allowance for spare parts under the new Dawes Motor Vehicle Insurance PDS," Jon says. “Meanwhile the enhanced Dawes Motorcycle Insurance PDS includes various limit increases and additions, such as provisional riders now covered under the policy.”
"Our overarching aim was to ensure the updated PDSs are providing something more competitive and comprehensive than other products on the prestige motor insurance market,” Jon says. “I believe we’ve done just that.”
“Another goal of the refresh was to make the Product Disclosure Statements more accessible, which we’ve done by making the documents simpler, and easier to read,” says Jon.
The overhaul was also a chance for Dawes to explore new ways to support vulnerable customers.
"The new PDSs include introducing a domestic violence exception, so there is no excess to a claim if it arises from an incident inflicted by a current or former partner," Jon says. "It's a simple way to help ease a financial burden for clients in an exceptionally challenging situation."
Some key changes to the Dawes Motor Vehicle Insurance PDS include:
• Replacement vehicle limits increased from $200,000 to $300,000.
• Cover for learner licence drivers on a vehicle with sum insured up to $100,000.

• Sub-limits increased for locks and keys, personal property left in the vehicle if damaged in an insured accident, and emergency accommodation and repairs.
